The Bostaurozos Interpretation Center is home to 32 unique cattle breeds from across Spain and Portugal, showcasing one of Europe’s most unique bovine genetic heritage reservoirs in Europe.

To the especially rich biodiversity of the Iberian Peninsula—uniquely shaped by its exceptional landscapes and climate—we now add Bostaurozos’ commitment to preserving the wide variety of native cattle breeds found across our country, Spain, and Portugal for future generations.

Passion for livestock breeding

Ganaderia Cartel Bos Taurozos

Bostaurozos project was founded by Grupo Puerta Grande — an organization with a deep love and respect for the cows and oxen that are at the heart of its mission. Driven by a commitment to preserve both biodiversity and traditional livestock practices, they built this Beef Cattle Interpretation Center and Theme Park to protect and showcase the bovid genetic heritage in this part of the world and preserve the different traditional Iberian cattle breeds that have coexisted with people across the peninsula.
